Abdul Jawad is a two-year-old with a rare genetic disorder called “Omenn Syndrome,” also known as the “Bubble Boy Disease” because it characterized by extreme inflammation and severely compromises a person’s immune system. Abdul Jawad also has a painful skin condition called Epidermolysis bullosa.
Abdul Jawad and his family are Syrian refugees currently in Istanbul awaiting resettlement. The toddler needs to have an immediate lung surgery and a bone marrow transplant that will cost his parents thousands of dollars that they just don't have.
In early February of this year, Abdul Jawad’s 6-year-old brother, Yahya, died after complications from the same condition, Omenn Syndrome.
The family was previously cleared to be resettled as refugees in the U.S. in December 2016, but at the time, Abdul Jawad and Yahya were both to ill to travel. The family's trip was then rescheduled for February 1, but by then, President Trump's travel ban had gone into effect, so the trip to the U.S. was ultimately cancelled, though it is unclear why.
The family is currently in line for asylum to the U.S. or Europe.
Our organization will distribute funds to help Abdul Jawad with costly medical treatments that can only be done at a private hospital. In addition, the organization plans to help the family secure temporary housing as soon as it collects $5,000. The family's UNHCR application is complete and they are expecting asylum some time in the next 2-3 months.
If you are moved by this story and want to help this toddler and his family gain back some semblance of normalcy, please don't hesitate to donate and support them in any way you can. A donation in any amount and a generous share on social media can have a life-altering impact for this family.

Baby Jawad's father gives an update
Dear supporters,
The father of baby Jawad, the 2-year-old Syrian refugee fighting for his life, just sent us a video update about his family and his son's condition.
In the video he thanks supporters and donors for helping his family. Jawad's health has improved following a lung operation, but still needs more medical care. The father also says that they have interviewed with another country's embassy seeking resettlement and hope to hear back soon.
We've added the video to the Launchgood fundraising page.
Thanks to you we have raised over $16,000 for Jawad's family and need to raise another $9000 to meet our fundraising goal of $25,000. Please share this story with your friends and ask them to pitch in. Donations can be made on this site http://launchgood.com/jawad
Let's make it happen for this family
Regards,
