On January 7, 2024, a fire broke out in Camp 5, one of the 33 camps in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. The fire left nearly 7,000 Rohingya refugees without shelter. According to the UN, 5,000 Rohingya refugees, including 3,500 children, lost their homes in the fire. The Basmah Team is on the ground, ready to extend a helping hand, but we need YOUR support.

The heavy monsoon rain has caused a havoc in Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh.  The rain has triggered landslides killing six people including children and injuring several others. A large area in the camp has been inundated. The refugee men, women and especially children are in real distress with no food, water and shelter. BAMSAH emergency team has been mobilized to the area to provide emergency relief and assistance to these affected people. Other projects we have implemented to aid refugees include the distribution of blankets, food, mosquito nets, cooking pots, and other aid. We have also installed many tube-well pumps to provide clean and uncontaminated water to refugees within the camp.
