PROBLEM: 

Rohingya men are being burned to death. Countless women are being raped and set on fire in locked house. Babies are being thrown into the fire in front of their mothers. Nowhere in the world do they burn people alive, except in Burma. All are being committed by Burmese military and local mobs. 

Shocking facts: 1) US military is cooperating with Burmese military & 2) there are no economic sanctions on the Burmese military government as deterrent. 

SOLUTION:

Two bills (S. 1186 and H.R. 4223) that will help stop US military to military help for Burma, put targeted economic sanctions on Burmese military officials, mandate the US government to take measures to end the repression of the Rohingyas and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance for them:

• The Burma Human Rights and Freedom Act (S. 1186). Status: Pending. 
  
• The Burma Unified Through Rigorous Military Accountability Act (H.R.4223). Status: Passed. 
  

OUR STRATEGY:

• Put top down pressure on lawmakers through our leadership team asking them to support the bill and full economic sanctions on the Burmese military government.   
• Put bottom up grassroots pressure on lawmakers from the public via 1000's of phone calls to support these 2 bills and to put full economic sanctions on the Burmese military government.
