Our Story
We grew up reading stories about heroes, we wanted to make our ideals for our young generations to relate to, and give a meaning of identity and morals, and four years ago we started building our idea for Palestinian comics, where we found comics is the most appealing and attractive with a lot of layers that can be fabricated to reflect the aspects we want to present.
We wrote the script for the new world we want to create, based it on different global myths, Palestine's culture, point-of-view characters with different depths and complexity, at the end we had the full picture of our world, and now it came the moment we need extra resources to make it into real work where people all around the globe can find us relate to our tales and dreams.
The Problem
In Palestine, we find there is a lack of literature in the art form showing the world -and the Palestinian people-, Palestine’s culture in the eyes of Palestinians. Comic stories enhance the imagination of the readers, and encourage them to wonder in multiple worlds and realities; in this sense, there is a very limited offer of this graphic stories about Palestine and the Palestinian identity. And not only in the form of comic stories, there are not sufficient sources of cultural entertainment that contribute to the collective memory of our society and generations to come.
Solution
Tales of Elia is a first on its kind Palestinian comical series of Tales-manga stories that will be published in Arabic and English, creating a medieval world with new maps, new challenges, and new heroes pursuing righteousness, reflecting Palestinian identity and culture. Its a creation of WestrosBank project.
Your contribution will be used in design, writing, editing, publishing and marketing the Palestinian new literature art, and help us to sustain the process to issue the comics periodically.

We are a group of professional Palestinians, 25 - 30 years old, with different backgrounds, living in Jerusalem and Ramallah, English and Arabic writers, designer cartoon artist and comic artists.
