Our Full Story

Our masjid Muslim Community Center of Leesburg (MCCL) is a small but growing community in Leesburg, Virginia.

Alhumdulillah, we are blessed to have MCCL serving Muslims living in Leesburg, VA and the surrounding area in Loudoun County, VA. MCCL started over a decade ago in 2006 and has since grown tremendously. Over the past two years MCCL has seen a rapid growth in the community, activities, events and population size. With the growing community we are asking for help to continue to grow what we have started.

Alhumdulillah, we have 5 acres of land. Previously we used to pray and hold events in an older house on the property. This house requires updating and renovations to service the needs of our community.

By the grace, mercy and blessings of Allah we were able to convert a old barn/farmhouse on the property to a brand new musallah where we have daily prayers and events. 

BUT our bathrooms, wudhu stations and multi-purpose hall in the old house are still in very bad shape and need urgent and major renovations to bring them to modern standards and so our community can safely and effectively use them. 

Additional small improvements are needed for nighttime outside lighting, audio speakers, online live streaming, picnic tables/benches outside.

​Funding Details

1) Major: Bathroom renovations

Currently we only have one bathroom. We want to add more to accommodate more people, and renovate the existing one.

2) Major: Wudhu station renovations

We currently have two sinks but we want to add more and improve them.
3) Major: Multi-purpose room improvements 

We have a big hall in the old house, but we need to fix it up so the community can use it safely for events. Especially so kids and youth can use it safely.

4) Minor: Better lighting during the night

This will help the community navigate (driving and walking) safely during the nighttime.

6) Minor: Live streaming technology

We currently live stream our events on Facebook live. We want to improve the picture quality and sound quality. We also want to expand to streaming to YouTube as well. We want to also record all our events for future playback.
7) Minor: Picnic tables / benches outside

We want to place some picnic tables and benches outside the masjid. On days with nice weather this can be used for our potluck BBQs or lunches/dinners. During Ramadan we can use it for Iftar as well.

1) Donating whatever amount of funds you can (even as small as $1 will be helpful and rewarded in sha Allah!)

As we've all heard many times the blessings of donating for the sake of Allah, especially to build a masjid, we know the importance. But just as a reminder:

Building masjid and sadaqah increases wealth

• “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Bukhārī, Muslim

• Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth... [Sahih Muslim]

• “The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills.” (2:261)

• “O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship...” [al-Baqarah 2:254] 

• "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." Al-Tirmidhi

• When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, Sadaqa Jariya aka recurring charity or beneficial knowledge, or a pious child. [Sahih Muslim] 
• “And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.” [al-Talaq 65:2-3]
• “Whoever sets a good precedent in Islam will have the reward for that and the reward of those who do it after him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest....” [Muslim]
