What are we doing? 

Join your friendly neighborhood musicians, Leftist, as we team up with Penny Appeal USA in the fight to help Domestic Violence victims become survivors. This campaign is meant to act as a bridge between a past life of abuse and a more hopeful future. The funds raised will help support the women and children at Penny Appeal USA's Domestic Violence Shelter in Charlotte, NC. In return for your generosity and help, you'll receive multiple gifts from our tiered sponsor packages including...

our new album release, Strength, 

the purple Strength tee and/or hoodie (in solidarity with survivors),

 extended footage of our trip to the shelter including conversations with survivors, additional Leftist merch, and much MORE. 

The Penny Appeal USA's Domestic Violence Shelter in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides services which include domestic violence intervention, teen dating violence intervention, improving healthcare access and educational forums. The shelter serves those of all backgrounds and walks of life. Our space includes a kitchen for residential cooking. We offer these services to clients that are in imminent danger of continued physical violence with secure and safe housing based on their individual needs and family needs which along with a service and safety plan. We provide support for basic needs, including three daily meals; clothing for adults and children and referrals for clothing if not on premises,toiletries and other personal items will be supplied. Our shelter is equipped with state of the art security cameras for the protection of the residents that reside in the facility.

​Why are we doing this? 

Our goal is to raise $5000 for the shelter to help support the day to day operations of the shelter. These include providing meals, toiletries and sanitary products, legal assistance, counseling services, peer support groups, job skills training, job search/placement, and domestic violence workshops.

Our goal is to raise $5000 by November 9th, at 11:59pm. Mark your calendar. Give early. You know campaigns like this are more successful if we start giving earlier. 

Why?

We know you don’t need to be convinced why this is important. Shockingly, the lifetime risk of violence from an intimate partner may be as high as 45% in the United States as reported by family medicine clinics (Sprague et al. 2014). Victim-centered services and housing programs play a very important role rebuilding the life of victims of domestic abuse. So we need to do our part.
