AN AMAZING RESPONSE HAS LEAD ME TO UPDATE THE TARGET AMOUNT FROM £5,000 to £10,000 WE CAN DO IT!
It was a few years ago whilst on holiday in Cornwall with my family that I visit this mosque for Jummah.
It was in the middle of nowhere, we drove through tiny narrow country lanes to get to this beautiful building that was once a Christian Chapel.
The chairman is a local resident and the worshipers come from hundreds of miles away to pray here.
The mosque serves a large number of Muslim doctors who work in the local hospital.
It was an amazing experience to pray there and the sense of community was like nothing I have ever see in my life. I live in London where you will find a mosque or place to pray every few miles.
The Imam at this mosque looked nervous and it just seemed like a place where Islam is new and everyone was banding together to practice our beautiful faith.
I was overwhelmed to see the mosque was completely full for Jummah.
The mosque is doing important work in the local community to show the true face of Islam, break down barriers in a country where Muslims are under immense pressure.
The chairman has worked tirelessly for over 20 years and practically single handedly reopened the building and changed the status to a mosque. The journey was hard as not all locals were happy with the Chapel becoming a mosque but most were glad to see that the Muslims showed respect for their faith by not changing the building but restoring the chapel back to its original condition.
The mosque is still in debt, thankfully a local resident has paid off the bank loan so there is no interest to pay on it. However the loan is still outstanding.
I am raising this amount on behalf of the mosque as I have seen with my own eyes what a Muslim community truly is and can achieve.
The amount raised will be a small amount towards the outstanding loan.
The mosque is near Lands End which makes it the last mosque in the UK before you reach the US!
I am personally a monthly donor but I wish I had tried to raise funds through this method sooner to help this community. You can learn more about the Mosque on their website www.cornwallasian-islamiccommunitycentre.co.uk

The Muslim community came together as one and supported this campaign. The campaign received donations from as far as Malaysia, Australia, Dubai, Brunei and the US.

The total debt outstanding for the Mosque is £17,000.00 I am confident we will meet our target of £5,000.00 which will reduce the debt by nearly a 3rd.

Dear brothers/sisters,
Thanks to your kind donation we hit our target of £10,000 on Launch Good. We had many direct donations to the mosque which amounted to around £7,000. The total amount raised is enough to pay back the outstanding loan.
I can not thank you enough, may Allah swt reward you and bless you in whatever you do in this life. The response has been overwhelming, we had donations from across the globe, Australia, Thailand, Kuwait, India and many other countries.
I have learnt a lot from this experience and it has opened my eyes as to what a Muslim community is capable of when we are all on the same path.
I have tried to email everyone individually at the time of donating but could not keep up. If I have not thank you personally via email know that everyone that donated has been in my duas. I have read each name and made dua, this is the little gesture I can make.
The mosque committee is overjoyed at the amount raised. They did not know at first that this campaign existed and can not thank everyone enough for their kindness.
The chairman called me today to tell me they had a special kutbah at jummah salah regarding this campaign and made dua for everyone who helped make the mosque debt free.
Please continue to make dua for this mosque and for all Muslims struggling around the world. We are a special community and only we understand this, lets treat each other as we should and help each other and stand up for each other no matter what. Only when we change Allah swt will help us.

The response was tremendous and I think the cause is such an important one that I have raised the target amount to £10,000
The mosque has a £17,000 loan to repay, we managed to raise £5,000 in a week! I think we can raise a bit more and reduce the burden. Every penny will count. A campaign supporter told me ‘some mosques have chandeliers that costs more’.
