About Rsseel Organization

Raseel is a Palestinian charity association that exists for the cause of helping children diagnosed with autism in the west bank.

We are a center of excellence having highly trained professionals to provide accredited programs to support individuals with Autism and their families, to be an internationally recognized Autism consultancy center for the region.

The Challange

After conducting a research we were able to conclude that there are many challenges related to the rehabilitation of autistic children. We in Palestine do suffer from the following:

1. Lack of awareness about such a disease.

2. The high cost of diagnosing and treatment

3. Lack of equipment and staff for helping the diagnosed children

4. The absence of statistics about the number of children with autism.

The project will try to fix the previous problems and achieve the goals of the organization by providing the creation of modern methods of treatment through a distinctive program based on the belief that each child has a point of strength in his treatment.

The rooms are designed to assist someone in organizing, calming, relaxing, and seeking out sensory information. The goal of a sensory room is to provide a safe place where someone who has Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) can go when they need to either calm or stimulate their senses. They can be as varied as the people who use them. Sensory rooms provide a great variety of activities to help engage the senses.

Therefore the sensory rooms will:

• Provide a perfect treatment environment, in accordance with the staff’s competencies who are very qualified.

• Will be implemented at the headquarters of the association, within a short period of time “not more than one month”, so that the room is ready as soon as possible. The treatment program will be launched according to a vision and a comprehensive treatment plan.

The fund will be used to develop and purchase sensory room devices (interactive floor, interactive murals, interactive fiber optic, color bubbles, safety walls, and interactive games). An electronic resource kit (studies, surveys, statistics, and analyzes) will be developed with a semi-annual update.

Fifty children will be treated per week by passing them through the sensory device which will stimulate the most important sensory, mental and functional skills of the child. After implanting the project the room will be periodically updated based on the children's situations.

Funding this project will provide access to treatment for 50 children per month, 240 sessions per month and will be provided to children for a small amount of money ($ 5), to make sure that each child can have his treatment and to ensure the continuity of service for the next five years with periodic updates.

What do we need?

$7,000 will cover the equipment need to establish the sensory room. If we raise another $3,000, we will work to start an electronic library that contains information and research on autism to provide parents and researches with needed info to better raise their children.
