This Ramadan, our goal is to raise enough money to run HDF's Nazeer Town Primary School located in Karachi, Pakistan for an entire year. It has 182 students and 11 teachers. I hope you will join us in this endeavor. Together, we can do anything!!

It takes a village to raise a child. 

We not only educate & vaccinate the child. We also build water filtration plants so she has clean drinking water. We provide medical care for her whole family and give her parents vocational training so they can better meet the needs of their family.

Fazeela's Story

Fazeela Liaqat was a 35 year old mother of 4 living in Lahore from a low-income household. During an initial screening of the people in the village, Fazeela was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. The HDF health and social mobilization teams created a treatment plan for her. She was referred to the nearest hospital and her health was regularly monitored by HDF staff. She received timely medication free of cost and signs of the Hepatitis C virus were gone within months.

 Our efforts include reducing mortality rates for at-risk individuals, improving general health behaviors through education and understanding, and helping individuals identify and solve their health problems.

HDF envisions the future of Pakistan's girls to be healthy, literate, and aware of their rights and leadership capabilities - Alia's Story 

Alia Haq is a young girl growing up in a village near Rahim Yar Khan. She dropped out of school due to her families inability to pay tuition. HDF runs education enrollment campaigns through out the year and discoved that Alia was no longer attending school. They persuaded her parents to send their children back to school. Alia was admitted to HDF's Elementary & Secondary school, performing exceptionally well and graduating with honors from high school. Further-more Alia’s younger siblings are now studying in HDF schools at different grade levels. Alia herself has received a college scholarship to pursue her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

HDF also helped improve Alia's family's financial position. Alia's eldest brother has now started a small business re-pairing motors through HDF's Economic Development Program. Despite all the hardships in her life, Alia has a very positive outlook towards life. She is determined and focused, stating,"...I want to get a job to ease my family's financial burdens and do something for my village." She ultimately wants to pursue her Master's degree in the future. This exceptional girl wants to bring change in her family and community, and break the cycle of poverty. HDF's Holistic Model, starting from it's Social Mobilization to its Education Program, provided Alia with a strong foundation of opportunities and resources.

Our Belief

It's great to educate a child. It's equally rewarding to feed or vaccinate a child. To provide her and her family with clean drinking water is an absolute necessity. Any of these activities done independent of each other are to be applauded. However, imagine doing all of them in conjunction with each other.~ A school that provides a safe place for the child to learn.~ A medical center that meets the needs of it's community. Provides women with pre- and post-natal care, contraception, and vaccination for all it's members. ~ Provides an economic development plan for the community.~ Builds delay action dams, hand pumps, and tube wells, link roads, solid waste disposal, irrigation projects, and agricultural pest management

Where We Work

Currently, HDF is operating in 21 districts in all four provinces of Pakistan and AJK including Mardan, Tando Muhammad Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Zhob, Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad.

Who We Are

This is a picture of us from last years fundraiser. We are a group of professionals, from doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, techies and much more! What bonds us is our desire to help people in need.

Poverty, cultural constraints, and an inadequate supply of resources hinder progress for development. It is hard to imagine that there are millions of girls in Pakistan like Alia, who are not as fortunate to reach their full potential or capacity. 

HDF envisions the future of Pakistan's girls to be healthy, literate, and aware of their rights and leadership capabilities. Our goal is to help them transform their lives and their communities by providing them the skills for self-efficacy and autonomy. Investing in girls' education is the most effective global solution to eliminate gen-der disparity and break the cycle of poverty.
