Half of all Rohingya villages are burnt down by the military. Almost a million people are devastated in 20 days, half hiding in the forests of Burma, and the other half hungry, but safe in Bangladesh.

The UN is being blocked by Burma to provide water, food and medicine to another 400,000 Rohingyas sheltering in forests and mountains trying to get to Bangladesh. 

It is a genocide. They are going for a final solution. Never again is happening again. 

It is our belief that God will ask us individually about what we did to help, not what others did or did not. That said, my request is to set aside 10 minutes today for our Rohingya brothers and sisters.

Burma Task Force is a coalition of 18 US and Canadian organizations to stop genocide of Rohingya people. Since 2013, we have been promoting weekly Action Alerts to mobilize a grassroots movement to action and to build effective partnerships with human rights activists, community and multi-faith leaders, US Congress and United Nations officials.

What We are Currently Working on:

• Striving to save lives of those stranded inside Burma unable to walk to Bangladesh. 
• Putting constant pressure on the State Department to put more pressure on Burma to open up relief aid.
• Pushing the US Senate Resolution 250 for the restoration of Rohingya citizenship & the Senate Amendment 607 to NDAA to drop military aid to Burma.
• Working with several United Nations' agencies to increase aid to those in Bangladesh and to force Burma to open UN aid to Rohingyas inside Burma.
• Communicating with the leadership of the Muslim countries. with Turkey and Malaysia being a priority.
• Working with Bangladesh to allow Muslim relief organizations to serve refugees. Currently, none of them are allowed to work in Bangladesh or Burma legally. 
• Organizing the Rome-based Tribunal on September 18 to 22, 2017, where judges from nine countries will try Burma on crimes against humanity. 
• Continuing to provide action alerts and other resources to all people
• Having a team at the Bangladesh border to document refugee crisis.
• Communicating with the media and providing resources regularly.
• Sponsoring photographers, lawyers, and journalists.

Short List of Achievements:

Burma Task Force has staff in three states and Canada, as well as volunteers throughout the USA and Canada. Some accomplishments include:

• We have united all Muslim organizations on this issue, unlike any other cause.
• We have helped pass the US House resolution 418 to restore Rohingya citizenship.
• We are the only coalition in the world for Rohingya with a dedicated full-time staff working on preventing this genocide.
  
• We are accredited at the UN and participate in many discussions on refugee and human rights.
  
• Rohingyas name was not a recognizable name until 2012. Alhamdu llillah thanks to your efforts it will not be forgotten. 
• We were successful in stopping and preventing four attacks on Rohingya villages in the last 4 years, thanks to pressure at the right time.
• No one was willing to call it a genocide. We insisted that it is a genocide: Provided academic depth to it through conferences in Harvard, London School of Economics, Oxford, University of Colorado, and St. Louis University.
• We sponsored and organized a major conference at the Nobel Peace Institute for Rohingyas, which brought the world leadership of Rohingyas together.
• Got 7 Nobel Laureates to agree to sign on our statement that it is a text book case of genocide. 
• We monitor 2,000 TV & media outlets. And have connected one on one with reporters about 550 stories.
