WE HAVE A DOUBLE MATCH !
If we raise $5.000 on Giving Tuesday two Tayba donors will, each, donate the same amount. Together with your gift, we might be able to raise $15.000 that's a potential 3X return on investment, both in the dunya and (insha'Allah many times over) in the akhira.
Help 1000s of Muslim converts in US prisons
“In many respects I’m dismayed with my fellow Muslims in the so-called ‘free society’ and at other times disappointed with them … Due to their disregard of their fellow Muslims who happen to be incarcerated … Many times I feel that the Muslims in general look at us as less than Muslim as they are - that at best our sincerity in being Muslim is somehow suspect …” D.C., incarcerated Tayba student
Muslims are 10% of the prison population (according to most recent numbers).
So we’re talking about over 200,000 Muslims behind bars.
What’s more, these Muslim inmates are almost all converts. And most of them accepted Islam in prison.
So whatever they’ve done in their past (and not all of them are guilty), Allah has long forgiven them.
But for all these brothers accepting Islam, there are rarely any resources. Mainstream books, chaplains, or teachers are all extremely rare.
So many of the brothers don’t even understand their beliefs fully, let alone prayer or wudu, or anything else for that matter.
“I would like to pose a few questions to you: How would you feel to go 3 years without being able to get a question on Islam answered, with no access to internet or someone to call or write? How would you feel to have no other Muslims to share your problems with and get sound Islamic advice on issues spiritually eating at you, for years on end? How would you feel if you wrote many Masjids and Islamic organizations for help, just to be ignored as if you didn't exist? And what do you think our Beloved Prophet (Sallah llahu 'alayhi wa Sallam) would say to those who could help those in dire need but ignored them?
This is why we need to support Tayba Foundation. Please do so!”

Tayba Foundation is one of the few Muslim organizations in the United States serving our Muslim brothers & sisters behind bars.
Our work is divided into 3 areas:
Islamic Education: including beliefs, worship, purification of the heart, seera, hadith, and other necessary topics.
We don’t simply send out books. Our students receive textbooks that have been written specifically for the prison environment, lessons on those textbooks, and access to our faculty to ask questions via phone, email, or snail mail. In order to pass a course, they must complete an exam and a writing assignment.
For students who have exhausted our curriculum, we sometimes provide private instruction. As a result, some of our students have gone to become teachers and even scholars in free society upon release.
“I have taught many inmates Fiqh, Aqidah, and other subjects through Tayba material - I have seen many inmates life transformed through proper Islamic education. There is a ton of ignorance on basic issues of Islamic practice in prisons, I have literally seen whole prisons transformed through Tayba material and students in Colorado. In 2012 I was the 1st Tayba student in Colorado, now I know at least 3 Colorado prisons that have Tayba students as Imams, on top of many Tayba students in the prisons here... We [also] had 2 shahadas here recently.” J.S., incarcerated Tayba student
Life Skills Education: using education and mentorship to help our students overcome the habits and addictions that led them to incarceration in the first place
Re-Entry: assisting students who are released (many are let go without a penny in their pocket and no family to rely on) with housing, job search, professional training, and other services.
"Tayba picked me up at the gate on the date of my release June 2011 to this very day Nov. 2017. Tayba has and continues to assist me in my everyday successful re-entry. I have received help from many other organizations over the years of my re-entry but none close to services I've been blessed to receive from Tayba." M.P., former inmate and Tayba student
Tayba is currently serving over 2,000 students in the above areas. We a 501(c)3 registered charity, so your donations are tax-deductible in the US.
Your donations are also zakat-eligible and we have a strict zakat policy in place to ensure that it is collected and distributed in accordance to Islamic principles.
Please support your fellow brothers and sisters behind bars. Just $250 can cover a student’s education for an entire year. $100 can cover a Life Skills course & mentorship.
“Many Muslims in prison have felt neglected and forgotten by other Muslims out there. Before Tabya many of us had no community support or scholars to ask questions to. We have made Tawba to Allah and many of us are serious about living as righteous Muslims. Please do not hold our past against us when Allah doesn't. Please support Tayba as without them your brothers and sisters in prison have no one teach them, in Colorado we make $5-$15 a month, we cannot afford Islamic materials with that. Please demonstrate your love for us through supporting Tayba.” ~Incarcerated Tayba student
