The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are often referred to as the best ten days of the year. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [Bukhari].

In these blessed days, the GMU MSA needs your help to help us start the new school year off in the best way possible. In order for us to fund our events, invite guest speakers, provide food and drinks, sell hoodies/shirts at a cheaper price, and cover other general expenses, we need your help!

​What We Do

The Muslim Students Association (MSA) provides George Mason students with the opportunity to come together in a supportive Muslim environment and seeks to educate the local communities about Islam. We aspire to be a uniting medium for Muslims on and off campus. To that effect, we organize a plethora of events including Friday Prayers, lectures on various topics, outreach/da'wah tables about Islam, Islamic awareness events for all students, and social events like picnics, eat-outs, etc. This year, we also plan on providing iftars to our students during the month of Ramadan, inshaAllah. By donating to our campaign, you will help us make sure that we get the best speakers for our events, and are able to meet their honorarium requests. You will also help us to make sure our students are well-fed at our events, buy any supplies we need to, and provide MSA hoodies/shirts to our members at a price that won't break their bank account. 

​Student Funding Board

As a Tier-2 Registered Student Organization at GMU, the MSA does receive funding from the Student Funding Board (SFB). However, funding for events is never guaranteed and applications are due at minimum, 35 business days before the event. In the case of events that are not planned that much ahead of time, the MSA has to use out-of-pocket funds. By donating, you help us to host our events and ensure we can pay for things without relying solely on SFB.  (https://si.gmu.edu/sfb/) All funds that are raised will be deposited into the MSA account and used in the case of last-minute events or to help with honorariums or any unexpected expenses. In the case there are funds remaining, they will be transferred to the 2020-2021 MSA Board.
