Tennessean ran a really reprehensible anti Muslim ad by a fringe group that was published on 6/17/2020 & ran again on 6/21/2020.
While the newspaper has investigated & fired the manager who was responsible for this professional negligence, there are several hardworking reporters who are on furlough suffering the brunt of this catastrophic mistake. Lets not punish the reporters.
The Muslim community is deeply hurt by this and we hold The Tennessean to a higher journalistic standard by asking them to stop giving place to anti Muslim ads & opeds, and do more stories highlighting work of Muslims in the community. At the same time we can also help furloughed journalists who report on local stories. Muslims are gracious & great at multitasking!
