Hunger is a global epidemic, but when most people think of hunger, they don’t think of the United States. It’s true, in many ways, America is the land of plenty. But a large portion of our neighbors will stare at empty plates while we prepare to enjoy our special Ramadan meals.

As we strive to perfect our iman this Ramadan, let’s remember the saying of our beloved Prophet (saw): “He is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor beside him goes hungry.” (Bukhari)

The Goal

Our goal is to distribute  280,000+ pounds of food in 34 cities across the country as well as supplying several food pantries. Each food package costs $60 dollars and your efforts will provide families and individuals in need with the following items (minor item changes may occur depending on location):

•  Long Grain Rice 10 lbs
• All Purpose Flour 5 lbs
• Sugar 4 lbs
• Vegetable Oil 2 Qts
• Elbow Macaroni Pasta 3 Lbs
• Pasta Sauce (Plastic Bottle) 45 oz
• Morton Plain Salt 1 lb
• Old Fashion Oatmeal (microwavable) 18 oz
• Whole Grain Oat Cereal (Plain Cheerios) (bag not box if possible) 14 oz
• Vegetarian Baked Beans 16 oz
• Black Tea (Family size 24 total) 6 oz
• Tuna in water 4 oz each
• Peanut Butter 1 lbs
• Knorr Vegetable Bouillon (6 extra large cubes) 2.1 oz
• Dates 1 lbs
• Sweets 1 package
• Jam 6oz
