Right now, give children in need new clothes during the Eid

  • Just a small gift: new pants, a shirt, and shoes for a boy and a new dress, pants, and shoes for a girl. In Gaza, this is what children and their families are asking for right now, to celebrate the Eid at the end of Ramadan.

    Please Give Now
    for vouchers
that children
    and their families
will use to buy clothing

Children are experiencing extreme poverty in the Gaza Strip. At the request of the families in great need, Rebuilding Alliance and our Palestinian NGO partners in Gaza ask your help to invite these families to go shopping for their children 14 years old and under.

    #GazaAidMessage

As of January 31, 2019, all U.S. Government humanitarian aid to Palestinians stopped. The U.S. ended all food, medical aid, and education aid to the UN and through USAID — meanwhile, Israel’s blockade of Gaza continues into its 12th year. This leaves over 55% of the population in Gaza unemployed, and unemployment is at 75% for anyone under the age of 30.

    • Thanks to thousands of donations, over the past 2 years, Rebuilding Alliance worked with our four Palestinian Non-Governmental Org (PNGO) partners to successfully deliver 35,600 Nur al-Amal / Lights of Hope through the blockade to Gaza’s children!
    • Our PNGO teams personally delivered the solar lights. Rebuilding Alliance's Executive Director was granted a permit that allowed her to travel to Gaza three times in 2018. She was able to go there to meet with our staff, our PNGO teams, and the families to see for herself.
    • Through the solar lights, their poverty became visible — we knew we had to do more.

Your donation will help bring joy to the children’s lives,

opening a door for additional support and service
      through the care and concern
of RA’s PNGO partners

Our Timeline & Track Record

There's only a day or so left to join this project before the Eid which starts on Tuesday June 5th.  Our team of four Palestinian NGO Partners are doing great work to deliver the vouchers in time, in a program that we've set-up together with great care.  Here's our track record:

  • Last year, Rebuilding Alliance learned how to safely transfer money to our Palestinian NGO partners to successfully build a food voucher program to help a total of 200 families in need, in accordance with all U.S. regulations.
  • To reach families in dire need, Rebuilding Alliance continues our long-time partnerships with four Palestinian Non-Governmental Orgs (PNGOs) including the Women’s Program Center-Rafah, the Al Amal Center for Rehabilitation, the Youth Vision Society, and the Al Basma Club for the Disabled.  These PNGOs choose families in their circle who are greatest need.
  • Our PNGO partners selected the vendor in a fair bidding process, RA then confirmed that the owner meets the US Treasury Dept requirements, and then our PNGO Partners provided families with vouchers so they can choose clothing for their children.

Because of our integrity and solid results last year, our four Palestinian NGO partner teams in Gaza were selected by the Jordan Hashemite Charities to distribute food baskets to 250 families each. Our Palestinian NGO partners did this in early May, as Ramadan began, just after the devastating bombings.

About Rebuilding Alliance

Founded in 2003, Rebuilding Alliance is an American 501(c)3(h) nonprofit dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future. Our life-affirming vision: To realize a just and enduring peace in Palestine and Israel founded upon equal rights, equal security, and equal opportunity for all.

Rebuilding Alliance’s work in Gaza began in 2003, with the Rachel Corrie Rebuilding Campaign in Gaza. Rachel Corrie’s parents, Cindy and Craig Corrie, were our founding board members.

What a difference a day makes

    Salam!

You wonderful donation is making dreams real!  Thank you!  Please spread the word — if everyone we all know gives even a dollar by 10pm Pacific time, we can win the $10K bonus for this project.

After we established our initial goals for this project, our photographer, Mohammed
Mansour, encountered these children in Rafah Refugee Camp. That's the camp where Mrs. Najah, the Executive Director of the Women's Program Center, lives. The WPC-Rafah has been one of Rebuilding Alliance's NGO partners for years — helping these children is entirely doable.

His photo made us hope ... it opened a door to your support.  We really wanted to include 30 more families from this camp in our voucher program — so in my email appeal yesterday, I asked for extra help — and here's what happened next!

The children and their moms brought the vouchers to the department store in Rafah, to go shopping.

That tall guy is Kareem, Rebuilding Alliance's Rafah Coordinator, the guy who makes things happen.  (He happens to be the eldest child - now himself a dad - of the family whom Rachel Corrie sought to safeguard when she tried to stop the bulldozer that threatened their home)

New shoes! New jacket and pants — radiant!

    An astute shopper indeed!

So, thank you to photographer Mohammed Mansour — and thank you to all who gave.

    Sincerely,

    Donna Baranski-Walker
    Executive Director, Rebuilding Alliance
