NOTE: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is critical in the fight against COVID-19 transmission. Scientists have documented three ways of transmission of COVID-19: through contaminated hands or fomites coming into contact with the body's exposed mucal membranes (eyes, nose and mouth), through large droplets expelled from the nose and mouth (caused by talking, sneezing, coughing etc.), and by contaminated micro-particles expelled from the body in the form of aerosol mists. These contaminated airborne micro-particles can stay suspended in the air, travel well beyond 6 ft., and be easily inhaled. Experts are divided on the general effectiveness of masks. There seems to be an emerging consensus that they are more effective at preventing an infected person from spreading airborne pathogens than they are to protect the wearer from inhaling them. This is due to the fact that most face masks don't create an air-tight seal around the nose and mouth. When you breathe in a mask, some of the air comes from the openings around the mask instead of passing through the filtering materials. Masks also leave the eyes exposed, leaving another vulnerable entry point at risk. Conventional face shields do block larger droplets from the eyes, but they may not offer adequate protection from contaminated aerosols.

THE BioVYZR IS A TYPE OF PPE KNOWN AS A POWERED AIR PURIFYING RESPIRATOR (PAPR). OFTEN USED IN INDUSTRIAL AND HEALTHCARE SETTINGS, OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE THIS TECHNOLOGY ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE.

A battery-powered motor fan pushes exhaled air out through a back filter, creating negative pressure inside the BioVYZR's hood. This negative pressure draws in ambient air from the outside through two filtering air vents. Inflowing air passes through two N95 filters to remove up to 95% of particulate matter from the inflowing air. This includes, but is not limited to, airborne pathogens, mist droplets, pollen, dust, soot, and pet dander. Please note that since these particles get caught in the filters, it is important to take protective precautions when replacing the filters to avoid contamination. Your BioVYZR will come with detailed instructions on how to safely replace and dispose of your used filters.

VYZR Technologies was founded in response to the lack of innovative and effective Protective Personal Equipment (PPEs) available to the public in the face of a global pandemic. 

We’re a passionate team of designers, problem solvers, and entrepreneurs working to create gear for a new normal. Based in Toronto, Canada and working in quarantine, we believe that our real challenge is not COVID-19. It’s dealing with a complete lack of effective PPEs required to protect the population and prevent transmission. 

The first product we’re deploying, the BioVYZR, is a consumer-grade Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

We're able to execute this ambitious production timeline because we already have established material sourcing and manufacturing partners on the ground. Before pivoting to the BioVYZR, we were already in the process of manufacturing our own product lines. As of our launch date, we've given a heads up to our partners to switch gears to BioVYZR production.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition, wearing a BioVYZR may make breathing more difficult for those with respiratory conditions. People with known or suspected breathing problems, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, or cardio/pulmonary problems should consult with their physician before using a BioVYZR. If you are claustrophobic or experience anxiety when in small spaces, this product may not be right for you. 

If at any time while using the BioVYZR you experience headache, nausea, dizziness or have difficulty breathing, unbuckle the side buckles, pull off the visor, get fresh air and seek medical attention if needed.
