The Initiative on Islam and Medicine  (II&M) at the University of Chicago in collaboration with UMMA Clinic, Whitestone Foundation, and Worry Free Community are hosting a 3-Day conference, Advancing Muslim American Health Priorities [A-MAP], in October which will set the health disparities research agenda for Muslim Americans.  A-MAP is the culmination of our Engaging Muslim Americans for Research on Community Health [E-MARCH] project where a cohort of religious leaders, community health and social service workers, researchers, physicians, and patients from across the United States identified three key community health priorities (mental, reproductive, and sexual health)  which will be explored in greater detail at the conference.

Hosting high-quality hybrid academic-community events such is costly and largely often passed onto attendees.  Given the importance of creating the next generation of leaders who will tackle these areas and address our community’s challenges through rigorous health research and community programs, we are seeking to raise $1500 to subsidize the cost of attendance for students, trainees, and others without the means to attend. 

Please contribute to this campaign in support of students and trainees interested in attending but who might be deterred because of cost. Any donation no matter how big or small will help reduce the financial burden of these events and help enterprising health professionals and health policy students learn how to effectively address Muslim health issues and advocate for Muslim needs in healthcare. 

**Please note that if there is excess funding from this campaign, the excess money will go towards the cost of hosting the event itself.**
