Our dream 

In the summer of 2012, four young muslim women, tired of listening to everyone talking one their behalf without even asking them, decided to take the matter into their own hands and speak with their own voices. For this purpose, they decided to found the first muslim girls organization in Spain with a clear vision: to create a comfortable and pleasant environment where Muslim youth (in this case, Muslim young girls) can grow, develop themselves to the fullest and acquire knowledge and other tools that will allow them to be active and successful members of their societies, even if they were to be a minority, as it is in Spain. Our aim is to empower and instill these important values in our youth,  making them aware that they can be fully Spanish-European citizens, without giving up their Muslim identity.

Rent of spaces:  5000€

Speakers fees and related expenses: 1000€

Audiovisual equipment: 1500€

Food: 500€

Material for the different activities: 500€

Ramadan special activities: 1000€

Means of transport for the trips: 10000€

Acomodation during the trips: 5000€

Who we are

ACHIME is an association founded and made up by young Muslim females, directed to young Muslim females from all backgrounds (those from Muslim families, who were either born here in Spain, or emigrated here with their families, those without Muslim families, who converted to Islam, even non-muslim women). Being young Muslims girls ourselves, who have lived their entire lives in Spain, struggling with a diversity of issues due to being part of a religious minority in a western country, it was a clear necessity for us, to create such an organization, to respond and meet our needs as Muslims, and to serve as a gathering place for youth who share the same concerns, aspirations and problems.

During this last 4 years we have worked tirelessly and put all our effort and money to make this project grow. It has been an extremely satisfying experience where over 1000 girls have participated and benefitted so far. There is still so much left to do, and that’s why we would like to invite you join us in this amazing project and collaborate with us to grow and reach further.

We want you to meet us

Sara Jaadar:  President of Achime, 21 years old, law student, and with full commitment with the work in Achime. She's always taking care of her team and the work they are doing. She always says that we should do this job for Allah (swt).

Naima El Akil: Vicepresident of Achime, 32 years old, journalist. She is one of the four girls that back in 2012 first dreamed about Achime.

Noha El Haddad: 28 years old, doctor. She's been working since the first day, dreaming (and making duaa) about how Achime will be something big one day inshaAllah.

Mariam Kourtam: 20 years old, architecture student. She started her work in Achime as a kid, and she's grown up with the association, always giving all she has and making a great job as the head of our audio-visual team.

Omayma Bouiri: 18 years old,  enviromental sciencies student. She is the eternal 14 years old, the youngest of the team. She always does an amazing job with every task she has, and cheering up everyone. She is part of the leisure team and the formation team as well. Omayma always believes that we can do it!

Dina El Haddad: 26 years old, medicine student.  She is one the first dreamers, and she always wants to do more. She is part of the audio-visual team, and a very creative person. She writes our plays, scripts and always has a great idea when you need it.

Khaoula El Kamouni: 23 years old, education student. She does a great job as the head of the advertising team and always cares about the people arround her.

Sara Kourtam: 25 years old, psicology student.She is the head of the formation team, she has amazing ideas about lectures, workshops and Achime's aims. She is in love with the islamic work and she is always thinking about how to make people see how amazing Islam is

Laila El Akil: 24 years old, pharmacist. She is the last incorporation to our team, but an essential member. Laila is the person that makes sure we don´t just dream, but we actually get things done. Do you want to make your plans and dreams come true? Then she is your person.

What do we want 

In ACHIME, we have a set a substantial list of goals towards which we work to achieve (both founders and those who have joined us along the way) with full responsibility and commitment. Some of these aims are: 

1.To create a comfortable environment that serves as a gathering and supporting place for all the Muslim girls in Spain. 

 2.To strengthen their Spanish-Muslim identity. Often times Muslim youth find themselves living between two different worlds or cultures and believe they have to chose one of them and abandon the other to fit in. Our goal is to make them feel comfortable and proud about both, making the best out of both worlds.

 3.To help Muslim girls overcome the problems and prejudices they face in a daily basis, by increasing their self-confidence and giving them a positive boost to improve their living conditions. 

4.To provide sound knowledge in both religious and non religious matters.

5.To visibilize moderate islam in our society and create bridges for better understanding. 

In order to achieve all of the above, we have carried out a substantial number of activities, ranging from talks and workshops to excursions, trips and different types of volunteering campaigns to put into practise the teachings of Islam and make Muslim girls apply in their daily lives the Prophet’s (saaws) saying: “The most beloved of people to Allah is the one who is most helpful.”
