More than a mosque, Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City is a bursting light of knowledge, a supportive community, a center for families, a place of feeding the hungry, and so much more. Every circle of knowledge at the mosque is full, encompassing everyone from local families to groups traveling from many states away to visit the community.
Masjid Muhammad continues to provide vital services to the community however,the building is in dire need of repair. The building suffered extensive damage from Superstorm Sandy in 2012 which brought wind gusts of over 100 miles per hour and flooded the inside of the mosque over three feet high! Thus, the roof of the building was severely damaged, the interior walls were dilapidated and left moldy, and the A/C systems were ruined. Alhamdulillah, through community support, we have repaired a substantial part of the Masjid. However, the mosque is in dire need of new A/C systems, especially as we approach the hot, summer months.
The need for repairs at Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City was clear last summer when then the Masjid was full of brothers and sisters listening intently to words of inspiration from Imam Amin Muhammad.The temperature in the Masjid increased as the lecture went on, due to the malfunctioning cooling system. Despite this, everyone stayed throughout the day for the lesson in Islamic knowledge.
One could only imagine the level of connection in the hearts of everyone present who had gathered at the beloved Masjid and choose to stay,while enduring the heat. We hope that this summer, we can offer a more pleasant experience for everyone. We aim to renovate Masjid Muhammad one repair at a time.
Our current goal is to raise $35,000 towards replacing the A/C units for the building. This is the first phase of our fundraising endeavor. By the help of Allah, we will aim to raise a total of $100,000. Of that amount, $65,000 will go towards the complete replacement of the roof and $35,000 will fund the replacement of 5 heating and A/C units.

Masjid Muhammad is a multi-cultural religious community established in the City of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Our mission is to spread the beautiful teachings of Al Islam to the citizens of Atlantic County and the surrounding areas. We serve our community by providing many needed services such as a Food Pantry, Interfaith activities, Social and Marital counseling, and much more. We hold the five daily prayers in our 10,000 Sq ft facility. In addition, we conduct daily classes in the various Islamic disciplines.
Our educational approach is based on the famous hadith of the angel Jibril which mentions three divisions of our religion: Islam (Religious Practice), Iman (Religious Faith), and Ihsan (Spiritual Purification). We believe that mastery of these three essential sciences are extremely important toward developing a complete believer and a healthy Islamic community.

This Ramadan, help lift the burden at Masjid Muhammad
As Salaamu Alaykum and Ramadan Mubarak!
Our 3rd Ramadan campaign on LaunchGood has begun. In our 1st campaign in 2016, we were able to raise almost $23,000 from all of your contributions. This allowed us to replace 3 of our 5 Heating/Air Conditioning units.
In our 2nd campaign in 2017, we were able to raise a little over $38,000 in order to repair much of our damaged roof.

In our new campaign, we are seeking to raise $70,000 to cover the operational costs of Masjid Muhammad for 1 year.
Our home is in Atlantic City, New Jersey which has the highest poverty rate in the county and Atlantic County has the highest poverty rate in the state. In Atlantic City, 42.1% of residents live below the poverty level. We directly depend on donations to cover our monthly operating expenses, critical building repairs, Islamic classes and continuous social services such as feeding the hungry.

Campaign extended until 8/29
As Salaamu Alaykum,
I pray everyone is in the best of health and security. Alhamdulillah, we were able to extend our campaign until this coming Monday, August 29th. Imam Amin and the community of Masjid Muhammad are forever grateful for all you have done. Myself and the other members of Masjid Muhammad can relay to you how rough it has been this summer in the Masjid due to the high temperatures, but something better and more beneficial to relay to you is that the work that has begun on the surrounding areas of some of the AC/Heating units is such a relief as we know that in the near future, we will be have at least 3 of the 5 units installed in sha Allah. I know we have already asked so much of each and every one of you, but if you are still able to dig deep and contribute in any way, your reward is with Allah; whether that is monetarily, through sharing this campaign via social media one last time, informing your friends and family, or by putting your hands up and making du'a.
in sha Allah, with this last push we hope to fulfill the campaign goal or at least raise enough funds to be able to purchase 4 out of the 5 AC/Heating units. Again thank you for support and I pray Allah gives us success in this life and especially in the Hereafter, ameen.
