NWMI is launching a fundraising campaign to support our 2019 programming! In order to make our programs accessible to all members of the community and to avoid fundraising at every event, we have set a goal to raise $50,000 by December 31, 2018. We need your help to achieve this goal!

Why NWMI?

NWMI provides meaningful, relevant, community-building programming for the benefit of the American Muslim community in the DMV, and this naturally incurs a variety of costs.  Since our inception, we have relied on community support to provide adequate resources for successful programming, and we rely on volunteer efforts to bring these programs to fruition.

Founded in 2009, NWMI is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving and educating the American Muslim community in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.  NWMI envisions a diverse community of American Muslims seeking spiritual, intellectual, and social growth towards Allah (swt) that is guided by the Qur'an and the example of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as transmitted through his family. To realize this vision, NWMI strives to build a diverse community that nurtures future generations through meaningful and relevant programming that promotes Islamic values.

Over the past nine years, NWMI has continued to grow and build institutional strength.  We have endeavored to lead in governance, transparency, gender equity, and intra-faith unity. Each year, we continue to add new programming to meet the needs of our growing community, including programming specifically-designed for multiple age groups.

How Will Your Donation Be Used?

Your tax-deductible donations are critical to NWMI’s success and effectiveness in the coming year.  We want to make our events accessible to everyone, and this fundraising campaign can ensure that money will not be an obstacle to serving the community through robust and relevant programs.  We rely on your donations to make that possible.  Your donations help us offset program expenses such as space rentals, food, speakers' fees, and children's program costs.
