Impact Multiple Lives this Ramadan through a Single Act of Charity
Asalaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh. As you strive to worship Allah and seek his pleasure in this Holy Month of Ramadan, Women Affairs of Al-Mumtahinah Home Inc., wishes to offer you an opportunity to Impact the lives of Many through a single act of charity.
By donating towards sahoor & Iftar food basket to a family in need, you will be feeding and average family of 5 and not only one time but every day for a whole month. Imagine the rewards that can be earned from such a good deed!
Last Ramadan, with the help of Allah, and then the support of the community We have fed about 200 families. Alhamdullillah!
This Ramadan we are planning ahead to secure feeding those in need in the community. Many times we forget there are many in our own community that may not have the means to attend the Masjid to break their fast. Many employed or not depend on their local Masjids to suffice their hunger. Needless to say when they arrive the food is all gone. This is why we began this project Last year. With the help of Allah and the Believers, we were successful in feeding many families. Allahu Akbar!!
Our Baskets will include foods like fruits, eggs, juice, peanut butter/jelly, oil, rice, potato, macaroni, lentil, peas, carrots, string beans, dry cereal, cream of wheat, honey, sugar, tea, dates, bread, chicken, Lamb and turkey or beef sausages and more...all Halaal.
"They give food, out of love for Him(Allah), to the poor, the orphan, and the slave, saying: We feed you only for Allah's pleasure - we desire from you neither reward not thanks" ( Quran 76:8-9)

This project is our second (2) year providing Sahoor & Iftar food boxes to the community. We have been in existence for over 10 years, Women Affairs of Al-Mumtahinah Home Inc. Provides shelter to the homeless, we have an Halaal emergency food pantry to serve the community and more. We continue to strive to expand its services to those who are less fortunate. Our duty as Muslim

" The best of deeds in Islam. "Spread the peace and feed the people...." As a Muslim living in this country. It is our duty to ponder over and think of what we can do to solve this problem (hunger). Not just during Ramadan but each and every day.
As Muslims we are supposed to be the guardians of this earth and all its creatures. As the Prophet Mohammad Sallalahu Alayhi wa Salaam is reported to have said:
"He is not a Muslim who goes to bed satiated while his neighbor goes hungry"
In the Holy Quran: "And what would make you conceive what is that steep uphill road? (it is), the freeing of a slave or the feeding on a day of hunger an orphan relative or a needy person lying in the dust.." (90:12-16)
