As-salaamu Alaykum,

This is our official fundraising page for Ramadan 2022. The community in south lake district is growing but the closest masjid is 50 miles away!!. We have no place to nurture our children's identity through a Masjid or Madrasa. And we don't even have ghusl, shrouding or janaza facilities for our deceased. We are working together help to establish this for the benefit of our young and old, brothers and sisters, residents and tourists.

Please give this Ramadan because our Beloved Prophet ﷺ has said to the nearest meaning:

“The most beloved of places to Allah is the mosque...” 

 “Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” 

"Charity does not decrease wealth."

"Charity erases sins as water extinguishes fire."

"Give charity without delay, for it prevents misfortunes."

Now magnify the above with the fact it is Ramadan. You are the most generous in Ramadan, our only request is to consider our high-impact project.

Latest update 10/04/2022

We had drastically improved the design and layout of the first masjid to fit its scenic location, and be a testament to the architectural beauty of Islam, based upon the feedback we received 2020-2021. We have submitted the application to the council for full planning permission in December 2021, the date of response was March, then April, and there have been further unforeseen delays. Because we have had planning permission in principle for the old design, we are very optimistic with the decision.

Please do du'a because we would like to start building ASAP!

National Children's Ramadan Competition Launch 2022

The best thing we can give to our children is the tools to do good-deeds that will benefit them their whole life, and their afterlife, and us in our graves as Sadaqah Jaariya!

The Prophet peace be upon him said: "The best that a man can leave behind after his death are three things:

1) a righteous child who makes du'a for him,

2) an ongoing sadaqah whose rewards continue to reach him,

3) and a knowledge that continues to be implemented after him."

If we nurture fundraising potential in our children we are contributing towards doing all three! Leaving behind righteous children, who engage in sadaqah jariah which will benefit us, and instilling within then the knowledge and skills to continue noble works!

South Lakes Islamic Centre charity has been established only for this purpose; to build the first masjid in the Lakes District, England - In Sha Allah. A vital facility for local families, communities and travellers to the lakes.
