We need to raise $200,000 to get the Muslim Food Bank a warehouse before the end of winter!

In 2010 we started the Muslim Food Bank to help provide for the dietary restrictions that local food banks were missing. Halal, kosher and vegan foods were just not available for those people who were in need. Families were forced to choose between their faith and the food on their table. After trying to work with the local food bank we realized that the best way to provide for families in need was to start our own organization.

The first few years was difficult. We started distributing outside of a local mosque but the need outgrew our space. In 2012 we rented a small warehouse and established the food bank.

"Feed in the name of God" that is the motto that we built the Muslim Food Bank on and alhamdulillah by the grace of God we have been able to provide food to over 600 families on a monthly basis. However, we are only just skimming the surface. The Syrian refugee crisis has increased the need exponentially.

Our vision expands beyond just feeding the hungry, the Muslims Food Bank has a team of ASPIRE caseworkers to help immigrant and local families with their day to day difficulties. Our volunteers provide support to families that come from war-torn countries, abusive relationships, have mental health challenges, unemployment, and even guidance on how to navigate government services.

At the end of December 2018 our lease for our warehouse ran out and was not renewed.  

Thousands of families rely on the Muslim Food Bank to help alleviate their food insecurity and that is why we need to raise $200,000 for the new warehouse so that we can continue our work uninterrupted.

We already own the property, received the permits and are in the building process. But we require the necessary funds and now we need your help to make it happen.
