What is Awesome Academy?

The Awesome Academy serves students who have arrived in the United States through the refugee resettlement process. Our program is welcomed by school districts in Houston and Austin, where we work with a variety of campuses both in and after school. The intent of the program is to support children both socially and academically so that they can progress quickly, transition smoothly, and become confident community leaders. In the process, we also support teachers and staff by providing supplemental instruction and individualized student attention.

Field trips, sports tournaments, and STEM projects are just some of the activities students participate in when joining the Awesome Academy. In addition, our instructors cultivate English and literacy skills through homework help and integrated language learning. We know that children are the future. By building curious, self-assured learners, we are providing the platform for our students to soar.

How it Works

STEP 1 - Submit Campaign for Review
Participating MSAs need to create a campaign on launchgood.com/msalsc and submit for review. On the main page, click on 'Apply Now'. Please indicate an amount goal you would like to set for your MSA. For the campaign title, please use your SCHOOL NAME.

STEP 2 - LaunchGood Review
In 24-48 hours, the LaunchGood team will assign a campaign coach to provide feedback and discuss best practices before launching.

STEP 3 - Campaign Goes Live!
Start crowdfunding! LaunchGood will provide crowdfunding coaching support throughout the fundraising period.

STEP 4 - Announce Winners
After the the deadline (March 30th @ 5:00 PM), MSA Lone Star will announce winners at the Showdown and LSC will be in touch to disburse prizes.
