As the situation is now, there is a lack of access to education amongst young refugees, especially for those in overcrowded camps and those outside of metropolitan cities. Jordan hosts 1.4 Million Syrian refugees (Generations for Peace Report)*, which amounts to about a 20% increase in population in a very short period of time. Of those, less than half (~650,000) have officially registered with the UNHCR, leaving a significant number of refugees vulnerable to exploitation. Of all refugees in Jordan, 52% are under 17. (UNHCR)* These numbers place a huge strain on public services, especially education.

Because all children deserve childhood. 

We’re excited to present to you our current project! This past summer, the Syrian Relief Effort committed to action plans to equip refugee schools and camps with computer labs to expand the number of opportunities children have to pursue education. 

With our small schools, we plan to draw kids off the streets and into our classrooms by incentivizing education. With us, they'll be able to pick up undersupplied skills and put them to use immediately. Our students and registered members will have unlimited access to the lab and can earn money by freelancing online. Post-graduation, our students might find the opportunity to pursue higher education in the United States or join a career pipeline as we continue to expand our partner base.

Our idea of combining trade school with primary education and workspace has brought us together with outstanding people and bright minds. We are fortunate enough to have the support of good people, but we cannot achieve our goals without you. Join us on our journey and ensure

How You Can Help

Your contributions will help in every step of this project. From building the schools to paying the teachers, every contribution will go a long way.

This fundraiser is primarily focused on this summer's mission of establishing a physical location in Jordan and location sourcing for our first lab. We will be visiting different refugee-dense locations in urban areas and gauging need. We will purchase land/ obtain construction permits or fund the construction of our mini-schools on-top of refugee centers.

Post construction, your contributions will do the following:

For $600, you can provide a computer workstation. (50 workstations, 1 master)

For $2,000, you can provide a year's budget of maintenance. (1 year)

For $7,500, you can provide a refugee technician a part-time job in maintaining the lab. (2 part-time staff)

For $15,000, you can provide a refugee programmer a job in teaching programming. (1 instructor)
