What is MSSA?
They aim to promote self-sufficiency and social well-being through assistance and training programs for disadvantaged individuals. MSSA also holds food and clothing distributions, health screenings, disaster relief training and family counseling.

Who is behind the MSSA?
The backbone and foundation behind MSSA consists of our beloved Imam Hassan Amin and his wife Sister Zakia Amin.
Imam Hassan is the Imam at Johns Hopkins University and volunteer Islamic Chaplain at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, he is the Islamic chaplain with Baltimore City’s Police Department and Islamic chaplain with United States Park Police. His wife sister Zakia Amin has been a board member and active worker with Muslim Social Services Agency (MSSA) since 2003.
She currently serves as a principal of the oldest continuously operating Islamic School in the United States.
Why this launch good page?
MSSA has been around for many years to serve our community and its needs. Back in December, our beloved Imam Hassan Amin fell ill due to COVID19 and was hospitalized for an extended period of time. With the help of Allah ﷻ - Imam Hassan is home now and recovering- Alhamdulillah.
MSSA however, during these past few months suffered and the organization is in need of support to continue operations. We are coming together as a community to support and revive the MSSA and help it get back on its feet. These funds will help MSSA serve the community and help them prepare for the month of Ramadan.
The Goal: $15,000 by March 31st.
Double the Impact & Double the Reward: The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) has committed to matching every donation made towards this goal Dollar for Dollar up to $15,000.
Lets all do our part and be there for the MSSA as they have been for the community for many years. We will be collecting these funds and giving them directly to MSSA & Imam Hassan Amin inshallah.
