Help Let the Quran Speak get Bigger and Better!

Let the Quran Speak has been on TV for 18 years. It has been running consistently, week after week, to this day. It's also available online to people all over the world.

The crew has managed to put out a professional product with very limited funds. But now Let the Quran Speak is growing fast and bursting at the seams! It desperately needs new gear and a new set.

What is Let the Quran Speak?

LTQS airs weekly on Vision TV across Canada and on YES TV, Hope TV and Joy TV. The show has a viewership of 15,000 per episode. It also has 70,000 YouTube subscribers.

The aim of the show is to promote understanding and appreciation of Islam and Muslims in Canada. LTQS offers an alternative to the extremist messages about Islam from within, and combats the Islamophobia industry, which portrays Islam as the bogeyman, from without.

The show features resident scholar Dr. Shabir Ally alongside presenters Aisha Khaja and Dr. Safiyyah Ally, and a variety of local and international guests who have tackled a wide range of topics with the aim of enriching the public conversation about Islam and Muslims.

In the early days, LTQS focused on explaining Islam to the wider Canadian public. This was pursued with a focus on Quranic verses and an emphasis on clarifying misconceptions and controversial issues. Today, the show also showcases the positive contributions of Muslims in the arts, civic engagement, ideas and more. It highlights the lived experiences of Muslims in Canada, including their successes and challenges.

Future Steps

Let the Quran Speak has recently grown. The team now consists of an Executive Producer, Senior Producer, Producer, Assistant Producer, Editor, Assistant Director, 4 Camera Operators and 2 Production Assistants.

This year LTQS intends to make changes to the format of the show. It also aims to put out more engaging content. And a big change: it plans to include more of YOU! LTQS wants to provide a platform for the everyday, ordinary Muslim to speak out and share their stories with a wider Canadian audience (and beyond).

The Big Ask

LTQS needs approximately $15,000 to purchase equipment for on-location and outside shoots ($10,000) and invest in a set revamp ($5,000.00).
