Support Students Affected by Covid-19 in Afghanistan

The Farkhunda Trust is a UK Registered Charity No. 1165763 which is dedicated to providing scholarships and mentoring to exceptional female students in Afghanistan...

Support girls in Afghanistan whose education has been impacted by conflict and Covid-19 by raising £55,000

The Farkhunda Trust’s mission is to provide scholarships for talented but disadvantaged girls in Afghanistan.

In Afghanistan, 78% of women have experienced violence as the people have suffered four decades of war and conflict. Moreover, 60% of the population live below the line of poverty, of which 80% are women.
Due to Covid-19, students are struggling in challenging home based study environments, with inadequate facilities and infrastructure.

Therefore we aim to help 44 disadvantaged girls in higher education to cope with Covid-19 by supplying home office equipment. This will create a comfortable office space with the technical facilities needed to enable them to compete their studies.

Raising £55,000 will help us to provide:
- 44 Home offices comprising of a desk, chair and partition: £200 each to complete their 4 year studies

- 31 Computers: £500 each to complete their 4 year studies

- 44 Food & pocket money for a year: £500 each

- 44 Online home-based mentoring: £200 each for a year
