Educate a displaced Syrian child and be the reason behind their smile.

Sponsor a displaced Syrian child by giving Education!

We need your help as we raise funds to support over 350 refugee children.  Your support will help provide a Syrian refugee child in the Jurahiya Camp in Lebanon with vital education, nutritious meals, and mental health support.

Help us make them smile today,  and be the reason they smile for their future.

COVID-19 has been cruel to refugees

A crippling crisis, traumatic displacement, and a pandemic may not give Syrian refugees much to smile for, but with your support, we can change that. Our team and volunteers have been working tirelessly and with your generous donations, we have already educated over 8000 children in our education centers alone.

But now more than ever we need your support. With the covid-19 breakout, the most vulnerable are in danger of not receiving the education they so desperately need. With your donation, we can guarantee the education and support they need. In the brutal conditions, more families are struggling to survive and provide. We know with your support we can transform the lives of the most vulnerable and in a time of great uncertainty give them confidence for a brighter and happier future, a future full of smiles.

Education, Nutrition and Psychosocial Support

We create safe places for children to learn, play and prepare them for a brighter future, a future beyond poverty filled with smiles. We help children who may be forced to work on the streets and who are malnourished to go back into safe and secure schooling.

Your donation will not only help fund their tailored education but also provide nutritious school meals, and psychosocial support through counseling and a specialized curriculum.

This year, make them smile :)

Your support will directly help us keep the doors open at our Jurahiya School, and help reach more students. The Jurahiya School is a safe place for Syrian refugee children. Jusoor is one of the few NGOs serving Syrian refugee children in the Beqa'a region of Lebanon, where hundreds of thousands of Syrians live in informal camps and settlements. With your support, we can bridge the education gap and bring smiles not only to the children but their families.

Last year we were able to keep this center open for a year, educating over 3300 children, and this year we need your help more than ever to create more smiles.

Syrian children like Rami and Ahmad have often missed years of education when their parents had to flee the war in Syria and re-settle in Lebanon.

Many have never even attended school, and their hopes of starting again grow smaller as each year passes. With the pandemic access to education is a challenge but our team has constantly worked to ensure that we can deliver above and beyond.

Zakat Approved

We are delighted to announce that our campaign is Zakat approved. We hope that you will be able to donate knowing that whilst fulfilling your Zakat obligation your money will create endless smiles for those most in need. As education is a gift that keeps on giving, you double up by donating to a sadqah jariyah appeal.

How Can You Help?

- Donate to the campaign, no amount is too small. Your change can quite literally drive change. Your support will help us continue delivering transformative programs and provide educational access for those that need it the most.

- Join our fundraising drive by setting up your own page and help us smash our target, and create lasting smiles for Syrian Refugee children and their families.

- Spread the word! Use the LaunchGood sharing tools above. Go above and beyond just sharing on your social media, arrange a WhatsApp broadcast and help us empower those that need it the most.

On behalf of our team, the children, their parents, and their teachers - Shukran for your support!

Looking back at our 2021 "Give a Smile" Ramadan Campaign

Dear Friend,

Last Ramadan you were a part of our ‘Give a Smile Campaign’. We are now less than a month away from another blessed Ramadan and we would like to share how you have changed the lives of over 350 children in Jurahiya through our Refugee Education Program.

Last year, we raised over US$100,000 to support the education of hundreds of displaced Syrian children in our Jurahiya Center in Lebanon. This was our most successful Ramadan campaign to date and it allowed us to keep the 350 children in Jurahiya educated, fed, clothed and warm.

Lebanon continues to face a grave economic crisis which has been exacerbated by the pandemic and your support could not have been more timely. You showed your solidarity by contributing to our programs. Funds raised meant we were able to support the families of the children in our education program living in informal settlements. You have allowed our teachers to continue to deliver our award winning education program to refugee children.

We are so grateful to be able to share the smiling faces of our pupils in the classrooms you have helped to fund. Because of your support through our Ramadan Campaign, these children have the chance to restart their education and we are truly thankful for this.

The Jusoor Team

DID YOU KNOW?
Since June 2013, Jusoor’s Refugee Education Program in Lebanon has helped thousands of displaced Syrian children continue their education outside of Syria. The program seeks to ensure Syrian refugee children have a holistic, well-rounded primary school education and a strong psychosocial support system. Our education programs have been developed as responses to distinct challenges that children face due to the impact of the conflict in Syria. Our program is designed to prepare students to transition into Lebanese formal schooling as smoothly as possible and catch up on gaps in education that many of Jusoor’s students have experienced. It provides children with the opportunities that they need to succeed and the skills and knowledge to rebuild future generations.

Tonight could be the night.

The night you’ve been building up to for nearly a month. Muslims across the world actively await the 27th night of Ramadan as a night of worship, reflection and giving.

Laylatul Qadr, the 27th Night of Ramadan, potentially the Night of Power! ‘The Night of Qadr is better than a thousand months’

97:3 Quran

The global crisis has taken a lot from us this Ramadan.

But the one thing it can’t take is our ability to give and receive the abundant rewards in this month and upon this powerful night. So on this night that many scholars believe to be Laylatul Qadr, maximise your act of giving by supporting those most in need.

Help us power their education, and transform their lives

Will you help us on this night of destiny to change their lives for the better? Pledge what you can and help us create hope in the face of adversity.

We need your help!

The Prophet Muhammad said (p):  ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Sahih Muslim)

Our campaign is Zakat Verified by a team of scholars, this Laylatul Qadr you can maximise your reward by giving to a Sadaqah Jariya on the night of power!
