Donate to help educate the world about the global allied Muslim contributions and encourage mutual respect between people of different beliefs.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Educating people can be a powerful means of inspiring change. Since 9/11 and more recently with the rise of terrorist organizations such as ISIS, Boka Haram, Shabab and their likes, the Muslim community in the West has been on the back foot. Trying to reverse the catastrophic damage done by these misguided groups will take time and a concerted effort from the Muslim community. It is not always easy to know where or how to begin but a good place to start is to change the narrative by educating people. Help FHF1419 to achieve this task.

It was previously estimated that less than half a million Muslim soldiers fought in WW1. Research conducted by FHF1419 brings the figure closer to 4 million including labor forces. These men travelled from all over the world and left their families and homes to fight for the freedom of the west. Some were forced, some volunteered, others went for glory. Their reasons are not important, the fact that they put their lives on the line and fought with honor and courage is.

It's time for us to honor the contribution of these men by bringing their sacrifice to the attention of a wider audience. By supporting this project you too can be part of the cause.

HOW IT STARTED

The project is led by Luc Ferrier who stumbled on his grandfather’s war journal seven years ago. Luc was stunned to read glowing testimonials regarding Muslim soldiers, their bravery and commitment to the Allied Forces. Seeking clarification, Luc delved into history books but found little information on the topic. This sent him on a 6 year odyssey spanning 19 countries where he was able to examine military, diplomatic and private archives, including diaries and letters, many of which had been left in boxes in basements untouched for over 70 years. By the end of his journey, Luc and his team located over 800,000 documents in multiple languages as well as hundreds of unseen images that told powerful stories of sacrifice, loyalty, courage and a degree of tolerance that would surprise many.

JOURNEY SO FAR

The Unknown Fallen, Volume One was published in February 2018 and since then we have managed to create a travelling art exhibition based on images taken directly from the book. The book and exhibition have received an overwhelmingly positive reception along with glowing testimonials from both public and private sectors. We have held private viewings with VIP guests as well as entertained visits from artist, embassy officials, local politicians, and community faith leaders. We have also been interviewed by FM radio stations and have been covered by BBC News, Channel 4 and The Guardian. In October we were invited to present our project at the House of Lords. We have also been invited to Buckingham Palace and to the Department of Education where we are discussing the possibility of integrating our book into the National Curriculum.

CALL FOR ACTION

Your generous donations will help us continue our research and get this information across to a wider audience. The money you donate will go towards

  • Handing out free books to underprivileged schools.
  • Covering costs of giving to lectures at different types of events including interfaith gatherings, universities and schools.
  • Marketing campaigns that will increase awareness
  • Administrative costs

With the rise of the Far Right and Muslim extremism and at a time when Europe and much of the world has been beseeched with conflict, we believe our research has the potential to build new bridges, mend previous ones and open new dialogues.
