When physically exerting ourselves playing sports, we can appreciate the importance and satisfaction of hydration. It is striking to know, however, that 700 million people around the world live without clean water.

Sisterhood Softball League (SSL) is a non-profit, volunteer organization, providing Muslim women the opportunity to play softball in the City of Mississauga. ​As part of SSL’s mandate to support community projects and charity initiatives, this year we have partnered with Canada's first Muslim charitable organization, Human Concern International (HCI) (Charitable Registration Number: 107497125RR0001) to raise awareness and raise funds for this important cause.

In the slums of Bangladesh, the villages of Pakistan and deserts of Africa, millions of people have access to only dirty water or no water at all. Girls as young as seven years old have to walk kilometers upon kilometers to fetch water. Dirty water leads to diseases which are destroying the lives of our children.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to build two water wells.  In order to help provide access to clean water to those in need, SSL is hosting an All Star game with the league’s finest players!  We would love for you to join us on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Birchwood Park in Mississauga, where all ticket sales and proceeds will go to HCI.  Tickets can be purchased here: https://forms.gle/u48xH3SCbi83zuxk7
