15 Years of Ramadan Charity Basket

For the 15th year running, SimplyIslam.sg is happy to continue our annual Ramadan project where we provide food and financial help to over 450 needy families in Singapore in time for Eid al-Fitr.

Alhamdulillah. Thanks to the support of over 4,700 generous individuals, we managed to raise over $145,000 at last year's Ramadan Charity Basket. This meant that more than 400 families has benefitted from the generous donations last Ramadan. Thank you to everyone of you who supported this project in kind or form last year. Your generosity and effort helped bring happiness and ease into the lives of many. May Allah Almighty bless all of you who helped make Ramadan Charity Basket 2021 a success! Let us all come together once again this year and help ease hardships and bring happiness into the lives of the poor, sick and suffering this coming Ramadan and Eid.

This year, 2022, we are proud to partner with these esteemed organisations to work towards the achievement of providing much-needed relief to many Muslim families in Singapore. The organisations include Persatuan Ulama dan Guru-Guru Agama Islam (PERGAS), New Life Stories, Singapore Benevolent & Community Services (SBCS) and Roses of Singapore.

In collaboration with the aforementioned well-established organisations, we also look forward to contribute to our Ramadan Charity Basket recipients coming from various constituencies such as Marine Parade CC, Pasir Ris East Constituency and Sembawang CC. 

In the past we had also partnered with several organisations like Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC) and Tabung Amal Aidilfitri Trust Fund (TAA) and their recipients have benefited from the Ramadan Charity Basket packages, Alhamdulillah.

Marine Parade Community Club.

The Marine Parade CC supports needy recipients living in Marine Parade, an area close to us and which we regularly extend support to. In collaboration with the Malay Activity Executive Committee (MAEC), the Marine Parade needy recipients will receive the food, goodies and financial aid from the Ramadan Charity Basket!

Pasir Ris East Constituency
Additionally, we will continue to extend our hand to help some needy residents residing in Pasir Ris East Constituency, specifically, the poor, needy and ailing residents of the rental flats along Pasir Ris Drive 3. These are some of the poorest people in the eastern part of Singapore. They reside in this heavily subsidised rental flats as they cannot afford their own homes. Many of them are old, ailing and unable to work due to their age and health conditions. Your contributions will go a long way towards giving them a semblance of normalcy, and a brighter, happier Eid, Insha'Allah.

Educational Support

A portion of the funds raised will be used to provide financial aid for students to aid their needs for technology, Islamic education, and others.  Their education should not be impeded because of their financial condition, so we will try our best. Islamic educational development has always been a key driver for our institution as well, and we feel that a good basis of religious knowledge will go a long way towards developing able, knowledgeable and empowered individuals that will continue to contribute to our shared communities in many ways in adulthood, Insha'Allah.

Giving food, Eid goodies and cash to over 450 needy families

Eid, or Hari Raya, is a time when families cook delicious food, wear beautiful clothes and spruce up their homes in anticipation of guests. In Singapore, celebrations go on for a month long! 

Not all families can afford what the 'typical' Singaporean family enjoys and especially during Eid, it can feel even more lonely.

The food provisions include rice, milk, sugar, dry foods and other basic amenities including Eid novelties, and some cash.

Please donate generously so we can make Ramadan & Eid better for these families.

Delivery of the Baskets will be conducted over the weekend of: 23 April 2022 and 24 April 2022 (Subject to Change). Please volunteer to deliver especially if you have a vehicle!

How You Are Helping

Each Basket has rice, milk, sugar, dry foods and other basic amenities including Hari Raya (Eid) novelties. They cost around $200 each.

We want to raise $150,000 to continue providing for over 450 needy families this Hari Raya or Eid. If we raise more, each family will get some cash Insha'Allah.

2. Donate generously. If you are unable to sponsor one Basket, gather a few friends to raise the $200 per Basket!
