Donating an Iftar

As you celebrate this Ramadan season, please consider sharing the blessings bestowed upon us with those in need. Join the Khadija Foundation in donating an Iftar dinner to a family in need in Hyderabad, India during Ramadan. Our meals include rice, dates, lentils, oil, meat, spices, and other condiments--enough food to satisfy a family of eight individuals. Meals are distributed each morning, so that the family can prepare the meal during the day and then enjoy it together each evening. 

Our Story

Founded in 1990 by humanitarian Aqueela Khuddus, the Khadija Foundation provides food and other necessities to impoverished communities across the globe. Through community, organizational, and individual connections, we identify families in need and seek to support their nutrition, education, and basic needs however we can. Our activities include a scholarship program, small business startups, interest-free micro loans to acquire small homes, and food and grocery distribution. 

A mother of three and grandmother of eleven, our founder, Aqueela Khuddus, was born in Hyderabad, India, the location of this project, and moved to the United States in 1969. She is an artist, designer, and humanitarian who established the Khadija Foundation to assist those living in poverty through educational and critical needs outreach. As a community worker, Aqueela has served on the board and as chairman of the American Heart Association, the Medical Auxiliary, Welcoming Gainesville & Alachua County, and related charitable organizations. 

Aqueela travels to Hyderabad annually, but now resides with her family in Gainesville, FL, where she continues her outreach work.
