How do you get young Muslim children thinking for themselves?

When my daughter got older and started asking me about simple moral issues, I kept thinking - Is there a book for this?? What are all the right answers?? But instead of reading from a book, I just sat and talked with her. I used simple words and examples. And I also turned the questions back to her: "How would you feel if someone lied to you?" "What would you do if you saw someone stealing?" It was then that I realized the concept for Little Muslims Books. 

What makes our stories great

I firmly believe that children should not just be told what to do, rather they should be shown the way to think for themselves. 

Instead of just telling a child that "lying is bad," once you ask a child how it feels when they are lied to, they will understand the importance of telling the truth. 

Each story includes questions and discussion topics that encourage communication between parents and children, and even between siblings. These stories are made for kids ages 4-8, but the stories are also easy to read for older children. 

Reaching out to Islam

Another great part of our stories is that they include references to the Holy Qur'an and even ahadith. So that way our kids understand what our religion, Islam, says about jealousy, obeying parents, bullying, etc. What better way to help our Muslim children understand their identities than by showing them that Islam talks about these issues too!
