Hurricane Harvey victims need your help!

Over 100,000 homes are destroyed, imagine how many are displaced and in need of shelter? Imagine the trauma of waking up with your family to find out that your entire 1st floor is vanished beneath flowing water. All of your personal belongings and things you owned all gone! Hundreds of thousands may have to start their lives from scratch, and it may take years for them to recover. ICNA Relief is looking to raise $100,000 and is issuing a call for volunteers to respond to this disaster.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “That man is not from me who sleeps contentedly while his neighbor sleeps hungry.” Help us provide food, supplies, shelter, and comfort to our neighbors!

Our game plan, your donation's impact!

ICNA Relief is well experienced in disaster relief, and has responded to over 50 disasters within the USA since 2001. ICNA Relief is an organizational member in leadership of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (NVOAD.org). Your donations will help us provide short & long term solutions. 

This includes the following:

• ​Mass feeding for survivors (1-2 months)
• Facilitate volunteers for shelters
• Facilitate medical professionals to help survivors
• Deliver hygiene kits to survivors (1-2 months)
• Mucking-out and gutting-out cleanup efforts (6-12 month efforts)
• Disaster casework/management (1-2 year efforts)
  

Current Status Update:

• 8/26: We're still waiting for the State to allow us to start our recovery efforts. (Currently only State first responders are allowed to help, then NVOAD orgs are allowed to partake in recovery efforts)
  
• 8/27: Our Dallas team prepared 2 trucks full of bottled water and hygiene kits to support 10,000 persons, they will transport them when roads are open. We will be partnering with various organizations and Masajid to distribute the items. Many meetings taking place with partners, NVOAD, TX VOAD, etc. Local ICNA members are asked to checkup on their neighbors' safety and needs.
• 8:28: Worked w/ ISGH Masjid Al-Mustafa to open Mosque as a temporary shelter and distribution point (5 mi radius of worst hit areas). Continuation of meetings and building partnerships for the coming stretch of months.

Impact
These efforts give our neighbors hope when they need it most. The smallest item you give or do for them can make a life changing impact. These actions will also symbolize what our faith teaches us and will help change many of the misconceptions people have about our Islamic faith. 

In fact this may be the 1st time they meet or receive help from a Muslim, a truly opportune moment to show our neighbors who we really are and what we stand for. A moment of love, unity and humanity.

Our programs range from over 14 women’s shelters and 28 food pantries across 13 states to 5 free health clinics, free counseling, refugee services, Back 2 School Giveaways and a Disaster Relief program with a visible Muslim identity. In the past 11 years, ICNA Relief has responded to over 51 natural and man-made disasters in the U.S., including major ones like Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy. ICNA Relief has Refugee Services in 10 states across the country and our staff has helped close to 10,000 refugees resettle.
